Summary:
On a whim, American teenager Daphne (Amanda Bynes) boards a plane to England to find the father she never met. Upon arriving there, though, she makes a startling discovery: The man she's looking for is Lord Henry Dashwood (Colin Firth), a member of the British upper class, who is running for political office. Lord Henry didn't know Daphne existed, but he welcomes her into his life. However, she isn't so sure -- and his family and his current betrothed look on her disapprovingly.

Review:
When I was a kid I loved this movie. Now that I’m older, I think it’s more of a knock-off version of The Princess Diaries films. A low-key Cinderella movie if you like. But that’s not to say it can’t be enjoyed – though more specifically by pre-teen girls.

Amanda Bynes to her credit is very good in this film. One of her better ones – in my opinion. Colin Firth manages to break a few smiles in viewers. Awkward sort of fumbling characters seem to be a specialty of his and this film is no exception. Oliver James is incredibly easy on the eye – one bonus point going for this movie. Not too bad a singer either.

The film does have its funny moments. It also has its clichéd and more predictable moments. But all in all it’s not such a bad movie. If you’re looking for an easy going watch – look no further.
