Review:
I watched this in the cinema when it came out and I enjoyed
it at the time. I watched it again recently. This is a nice little film. It’s
sweet. Directed by Nancy Meyer, there’s not a whole to of room to go wrong.
Robert DeNiro leads the cast, followed closely by Anne Hathaway.
They’re not to actors I would have associated with one another at all before
this film, but in an actual fact they worked really well together. I really
like their characters’ (Ben and Jules) relationship throughout the film. Their friendship is
incredibly endearing and we fall in love with it easily very early on.
Even the friendships that Ben makes with the rest of his co-workers is very endearing and entertaining as well. Sweet.
Like a lot of Nancy Meyer’s films, the focus is on a lot of
problems and conundrums in the area of life pickles or friendships
or romantic relationships.
A warm, engaging and enjoyable film for lazy days with
friends or family.
