love for Sydney.
Review:
This film combines comedy with a well-rounded bunch of
characters in a wonderfully sweet love story that’s full of light-hearted energy
from the word go.
Michael Douglas is a great lead, giving the president charm
and down to earth qualities. One of my favourite scenes was that between him and
Martin Sheen’s character, AJ MacInerney, as he discusses his desire to see
Sydney again. I thought it was so sweet. I loved his and AJ’s friendship.
Martin Sheen is always a pleasure to watch.
Annette Benning is a phenomenal actress. Having her character
making a fool of herself while maintaining class is something she pulls off
with flying colours. Sydney and Andrew’s budding romance is very cute. It
focused on their romance more than I thought it would. I didn’t realise it was going
to be as much of a romantic comedy as it actually is. The whole political aspect of the story is
merely a backdrop.
Michael J Fox is in flying spirits as well of course. His
charm and charisma on screen shining through more than ever in his supporting
role as Lewis Rothschild. The man never disappoints.
This is a really light-hearted enjoyable film. Worth a watch
for sure!
